Cannot Sleep

I’m having trouble sleeping tonight. I can’t rest.

I’m not sure what it is, but my thoughts are racing.

I toss and turn, shifting positions, but it’s futile.

I exhaled a sigh. I’m not sure why I’m wide awake.

I don’t even think I’m in my bedroom. This is odd.

I hear a woman’s voice asking how I’m doing.

I then notice that someone is lying next to me in bed.

The random lady reminds me she is my life partner.

I don’t remember ever getting married, though.

That’s when the alarm goes off, and I soon awaken.
