Escape the Loop
By Craig Wilson
The smoke goes away. Apparently, I'm in a hotel room.
Strangely, I do not remember ever visiting this hotel.
So, I go to the restroom. I notice my reflection is off.
I have somehow become a thirty-year-old Asian woman.
Bewildered, I leave the hotel room to look for help.
I rap on doors. Nobody responds. So I flee. I also panic.
But time seems to warp wildly as I run for an exit.
Somehow, I keep going up the same stairs repeatedly.
I leave the dream when my phone’s alarm goes off.
The End
The above story is a loose adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel free to leave a comment, and thank you for reading.
