The Night Watcher

The Night Watcher

By Craig Wilson

I can’t get to sleep tonight.

Someone is watching me.

I cannot see them properly.

My mouth doesn’t open.

I cannot scream for help.

I cannot move my body.

My heart pounds wildly.

My visitor stares at me.

They do not say a word.

I can’t see their mouth.

I think they're smiling.

They won’t stop staring.

I want them to go away.

Please, someone save me.

The End

The above story is a loose adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel free to leave a comment, and thank you for reading.

  1. Good poem, I like it and relate - I hate dreams like this.
