The Sore Throat
By Craig Wilson
I wake up in my bed. Sadly, my throat feels really sore.
It feels like I have swallowed a huge cheese grater.
Going downstairs, I head straight for the kitchen.
Naturally, I prepare a bowl of cereal and some tea.
Every swallow is murder on my throat and I wince.
I tell myself that I won’t be going to school today.
Suddenly, I realise that I am actually way too old.
However, everything shifts and I am my adult self.
Nevertheless, my throat hurts and I don’t know why.
My thoughts are interrupted by my phone’s alarm.
Luckily, in the real world my throat is pretty fine.
The End
The above story is a loose
adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel
