A Sweet Adoption

A Sweet Adoption

By Craig Wilson

The smoke clears, and I realize I’m in a new house.

Strangely, I don’t recall coming here. It’s odd.

I inspect my reflection; I’m now a pre-teen girl.

Yet I cannot speak. I now suffer from mutism.

My bedroom is full of adorable plush animals.

I leave the bedroom to greet my new family.

My foster parents remind me why I am here.

The parents claim they adopted me recently.

I truly enjoy living in my brand-new home.

They even have a dog that I can play with.

My alarm goes sounded, and I exit the dream.

The End

The above story is a loose adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel free to leave a comment, and thank you for reading.
