A Haunting Connection
By Craig Wilson
The smoke clears. I’m in a gothic house.
I am frightened when I hear a woman cry.
I ignore my instincts and climb the stairs.
I enter a room and see a woman in a gown.
The woman appears to be in mourning.
So I sat with her and ask her what's up.
Her own death has depressed her greatly.
I ask her if she needs help with anything.
She asks for a hug, and I oblige the request.
We hug for a while. It feels so lucid, too.
Yet, I do not want this moment to end.
Sadly, my alarm goes off, and I wake up.
The End
The above story is a loose adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel free to leave a comment, and thank you for reading.
