The False Reality

The False Reality

By Craig Wilson

I awoke in bed. My alarm’s tune is going off.

I turned off my alarm. I do not want to leave.

My wife says she wants to sleep in, too.

I don't recall having a wife, however.

Even stranger, our adopted children rush in.

The children want us to cook them pancakes.

So, reluctantly, we must leave the bed.

The kids also offer us some privacy.

After changing, we go soon downstairs.

My wife and I cook amazing pancakes.

Someone knocks on the door. I check it out.

When I open the door, I exit the dreamscape.

The End

The above story is a loose adaptation of a dream I had. If there is anything you would like to ask, feel free to leave a comment, and thank you for reading.
